Intermittent fasting

While I have minimal knowledge in regards to Nutrition, it is something that intrests me greatly. It is ever changing, with advice being offered changing like the wind. And new 'fads' seem to raise their heads almost weekly - but one that has cought my interest is 'Intermittent fasting'.

I asked if anyone could help point me towards the science behind it as opposed to the numerous blogs (like mine maybe) that are on the whole subjective.

I was pointed towards this video which while I believe only touches the science behind Intermittent fasting, it certainly explains it in a nonsensical way.
